✕ BIOSCOOP BUITENKANT

Small avant-garde cinema initiative based around the Zeedijk area in Amsterdam, run by Kiriko Mechanicus and Noa Jansma.

What started as a spontaneous, on-the-fly initiative is gradually growing into a more regular platform for experimental film screenings and gatherings. I helped develop a visual identity to give the project more presence and continuity, while supporting the community forming around it through social announcements, event graphics, and early supporter merchandise such as the “fan van het eerste uur” scarf.

The identity intentionally embraces a rough and imperfect aesthetic, drawing inspiration from early avant-garde cinema, subtitles, visual noise, and bold color combinations. Rather than feeling polished or institutional, the system was designed to stay flexible, energetic, and closely connected to the spirit of the initiative itself.
